The ChiCom Party line is something to the effect of "No Chinese troops have ever been sent abroad to occupy one inch of foreign soil". The inference from the Chinese perspective is that they are preparing to send troops abroad to protect Chinese land that is disputed. In this case, they intend to go after Uyghur (Turkish Muslims of western China) separatists who they consider an existential threat. The Uyghur separatists are to a greater or lesser degree being trained in FATA and FANA Pakistan... does any of this sound familiar ???? The Chinese want bases from which they can easily strike these elements in FATA and FANA. Thus, perhaps we are seeing Balkanization, the 21st Century Edition.

This has interesting implications generationally, as the trigger areas for the next crisis war are perhaps not the lines draw at the end of WWII but the lines drawn by the Civil Wars that followed in Asia: India/Pakistan, China/Taiwan, South Korea/North Korea, etc. This could shift and delay the timeline for onset by as much as a decade.

This delay is consistent with my suspicion that the next war will be triggered by an unexpected nuclear attack precipitating immediate responses from other nuclear armed nations. As there is no real defense against nuclear attack, all MUST bow to the cult of the offensive. And a delay of a decade would create at least two additional nuclear participants and dozens and dozens (if not hundreds) of devices.

There are trigger areas in the Middle East & North Africa too. Ditto for Europe, especially if the EU breaks up.

There are many potential triggers. I'm just beginning to think the Asian ones look the more likely candidates presently. China/Taiwan would pull us immediately into what Chinese generals have in no uncertain terms described as all out nuclear war. India/Pakistan would also bring us to nuclear war with China, as they are nuke states, where India is our ally and Pakistan is china's. A reignition of the Korean civil war would also bring us to all out war with China. ETC...

China, India, and Pakistan need each other and they need to be at peace with each other. The world economy is too fragile for these three to waste money in armed posturing/conflict. Each is surely smart enough to know this. When will they ever learn?
