Iran may end up paying for this if they continue. Our economy is already weak and if oil prices rise, it'll threaten the anemic growth that we already have. We could either have harsher sanctions on them and we may; another possibility is a military strike, either on their nuclear weapons program or their naval vessels and facilities around the Strait of Hormuz.

This might anger some people, but I'm grateful I don't live in Europe right now. Bad as the United States is, they are in even worse trouble, making our debt and unemployment seem trivial and economic growth healthy by standards of comparison.
