At the moment, I'm looking at Nigeria from a generational standpoint. Their last crisis war ended in 1970, if I recall correctly, meaning that it's been 41 years. Therefore, I would say that they are in an unraveling period, so full scale civil war is not likely at this time.

However, I could easily see it happening 10-15 years. I believe it was stated that poverty can accelerate the timeline of a crisis war and Nigeria is among the poorest countries in the world. We're having low-level violence, but also some very real atrocities, similar to what is happening in Kenya. They'll do this dance for 10, maybe 15 years, and then civil war will break out. Considering that it's one of the densest populations in Africa, I shudder to think of what it'll be like.
