So how might this go if the kick the can down the road prediction is followed:

Greece votes to make future cuts, bond holders agree to take 70% hair cut, political leaders sign pledge, bail out payment made, elections held, a different leader and/or party is elected ( other than one of the three leaders signing the pledge), austerity measures never fully implemented after new government takes power, deepening Greek economic decline makes the bail out meaningless even if the austerity measures had been fully implemented?

It appears the mostly likely Greek outcome here is the same that happened with German debt between 1925 and 1935.

Incremental default leading to total default and forgiveness by the other governments of Europe.

I had to read this twice to be sure I actually got the implications:
" the troika is demanding that the leaders of each of the three parties sign a letter committing to implement the austerity commitments, in case that party wins the election".

Isn't that a violation of the much ballyhooed "principle of subsidarity"? And that's all over these European treaties. More importantly, a great many people would see it as effectively an act of war.

And what sane politician is going to promote further cutbacks and austerity in the face of a 21% jobless rate? The winner in this election will be the one who says, "elect me and we leave the euro".

The bitch of Argentina story is funny, but it shows a definite lack of professionalism on the part of the person who named the file.

Hmm, hard to imagine how they could possibly distrust Greece. Now they've got Portugal imploding in on itself as well.

As for the protests in Tibet, I don't see them spiraling out of control, at least not yet.
