It makes me wonder if the fight going on between Germany and Greece means that they're going to be at war with each other in WWIII.

As for Syria, unless we decide to do something, I don't think these protests can go on forever. There's only so much even the young Prophet generation can take before they decide to stop protesting. Their last war was 26 years ago, meaning that their next crisis war will likely be in 25-30 and from the sounds of it, it'll be a civil war.

If China's economy is slowing down, it's going to effect us as well. People are screaming "recovery" but that could change very quickly considering the kind of shape the world is in.

Thanks for the cogent observations. I do respectfully have my doubts about Germany and Greece getting into opposite sides of a total war with each other anytime soon, which could possibly pit Greece against its longtime adversary Turkey. However, I might just reconsider the possibility of a German-Greek conflict, due to reasonable evidence of possibly 50 percent or more of the $37 trillion in credit-default swaps which exist out there being affected by the just-announced Greek "credit event." The Greek credit event will certainly cause a great deal of money to change hands, and a good many companies will suddenly be "mysteriously" forced into bankruptcy. It will not be loudly discussed in the public press as to the cause.

China has a massive recession/depression coming, they bought and paid for it so it's all theirs. The ultimate effect on the rest of the world, and whether or not they'll march 20 million troops towards India or Taiwan for a distraction is a damned good question.

Did anyone else catch the memo by the Wall Street Journal telling their editorial and staff writers to avoid the use of the term "GOP" when referring to the Republican Party? Apparently they've decided this is confusing to their readers, that most of the younger ones simply don't know the meaning of the term as "Grand Old Party" and don't identify it with the Republican Party. It shows a rather shocking attitude as to the educational level they believe the average WSJ reader has acquired, on the other hand, they may have based it on reading the online comments on the editorials. Many of those don't show up as the "best and brightest" by any measure. Apparently they've decided to dumb it down.
