Those trails of smoke are more dramatic when they zip by a couple hundred feet from you. Had that happen outside Kirkuk.

Given that the West Bank has a population over four million, and Israel has a population of 7.7 million, of which 1.6 million are Arabs, and also given the number who would move into the West Bank if it was annexed by Israel, it's no wonder they are talking about a second class nonvoting "citizen", because the Jewish identity vote would very quickly get smothered. Such a thing would of course guarantee a group more than two thirds as large as the Jewish population of Israel who would never identify in any way with Israel even "unto the fourth generation". Sounds like a bigger problem than treating the West Bank as a foreign country.

There is a belief in parts of Europe that Romney will at once go to war with Iran if elected. That's what the last remark was probably referencing.

And given that I'm sitting between Iran and Syria, I don't think it's too much to ask that the candidates at least look at a map before shooting off their mouths about the middle east. I still say "none of the above" would be a shoo in this year.
