There is no possible way to settle the Israel - Palestine conflict peacefully. Both sides routinely violate the rights of citizens of both their own side and the other side. There will be ever growing resentment and hatred until enough people are killed to cause the survivors to abhor the idea of fighting to resolve their differences. The main driver of conflict at this time is seldom mentioned, that Israel's Jewish population is not increasing as rapidly as the Arab and Christian population of either Israel or Palestine, and Israel has run out of outside sources of Jews to tap for immigration. Had the USSR not fallen when it did, then this might have been settled in some fashion in the early 90's, but the immigration of Jews from the old USSR enabled Israel to put off the day of reckoning until now.

I do not believe the world will accept some kind of second class non voting citizen in Israel, if you aren't a Jew you don't get a vote. Palestine certainly won't accept it. And that's the only way to maintain Jewish ascendency in Israel, either second class citizens or simply kill enough non Jews each year until they can't muster enough votes to take control. We've got some interesting times ahead, as there is no resolution to this that will be acceptable to the world at large and both sides in the Mid East.

Any truce in Gaza will be temporary. Nobody can control these rocket launches, they are essentially launching somewhat sophisticated fireworks with nasty warheads on them. This stuff lands where it lands. Anyone who has some pipe and the plans (which are on quite a few websites) and the appropriate chemicals can make these things. I doubt Iran is supplying finished weapons, more likely just the materials and very probably not all of those. Or perhaps aged out military junk from Iran, though that's risky to smuggle. A lot of the stuff fired in this part of the world is essentially modified military junk. Some welder will tack crappy fins on a missile meant for tube launching, and then stick a fuse in the end, and I mean every bit of that literally. The result isn't much better than the congreve rockets the British were using a century and a half ago. But you didn't want one of those landing on you either, they were killers. There is no guidance, no aiming, just point in the general direction of what you want to hit, light a fuse and run. It's fairly routine for these things to kill the people firing them.

Patriot systems protecting Turkey from gas missiles launched from Syria would have to be considered as preparations for attacking Syria. Defensive systems are necessary for anyone planning an attack.

Seems like Israel is going to be the next Rhodesia and South Africa.

A small group of civilized people trying to run a Western nation while trying to prevent the majority third world population from destroying it for everybody.
