The "end" of the Mayan calendar is about as amazing and important as an odometer rolling over. We've had this EOTW three times now recently, Y2K, the year 2000/2001 as the return of Christ and now the Mayan calendar rolling over and starting the count again. What is so amazing about a string of zeros that people think it means the end of the world? I suppose we'll have it again in 2027 as the more sophisticated know that's 2000 years after Christ's actual death, and then again five years later as the ones who don't know that Christ was born in 5BC will be crying doom again. That should put an end to it for a while - though they'll always have comets.
