The North Korea issue boils down to whether or not China will risk nuclear war that close to the border. I rather expected them to attack NK themselves, but apparently they've decided to wait it out. I suppose an attack on the North and risking the destruction of Chinese cities is just too much to expect them to sacrifice at this date, as it might encourage the civil war they are rushing towards.

Will they risk nuclear war on their doorstep? Apparently, they've decided to take that chance.

This may lead to the Chinese bailout of Europe, on the theory that Europe would stay out of a Korean war, if they had to finance their debt through China. The resentment towards the banker that would inevitably come about never seems to be a factor in this type of diplomatic thinking.
