Note, the linguistic genius, William Tyndale, (before being martyred by the Pope) translated and printed the Bible in English (1526-1536), a work which became the foundation not only of all English Bibles but also of the Modern English language.

Wikipedia indicates he was alive for more than 10 years. Wiki is a bit confused saying he was born in 1490 and also born in 1494. But around then seems better than born 1526 given there is no confusion him being killed and burned at the stake in 1536.
