The US seems a bit schizophrenic given the contradictory statements on Libya that are coming out.

What must be done to fix our budget problems is obvious, it's just that nobody wants to be "unpopular". Oddly, I always regarded worrying about popularity as a childish thing, not something adults based all their behavior on. Apparently I was wrong. Or else junior high has taken over Congress.

A British editorial weeps over the generational changes in Britain, though he doesn't regard them explicitly as generational.

In fact, the entire telegraph education page seems to show generational influences. It's striking how the crisis is clearly reaching a climax in many ways.
