That's a curious bit of internet spam. I presume the word "Turkey" has shown up too often.

This phrase amused me "a fresh mandate for his Socialist government to continue with an austerity drive" given it goes so counter to the accepted semantic expectations for any "socialist" labeled group. The Pirate Party is another semantic oddity, given they combine elements seen as both "liberal" and "conservative" in their platform.

When examined as actions rather than slogans, parties seldom move in the expected direction. Examples of this abound, and everyone gets shocked if you mention them, such as what party was in the White House when various agencies or actions were initiated. If people went by actions, then Republican Presidents would be notorious for expanding welfare, cutting the military budget and protecting the environment, while Democratic Party Presidents would be notorious for cutting welfare, relaxing environmental restrictions and asking for increases in the military budget (we speak of on budget items here re the military here). And that simply illustrates that nobody listens to facts in political debates, they listen to emotion and rhetoric only. Facts don't count in politics.
