A fast cascade

I expect that the Cascade period (which I suspect will begin in only a matter of months), will be very precipitous this time. 911 has made America an unusually jittery and grim place for a 3T ending period. The best analogy I can think of is the 1857-1860 period with its Bleeding Kansas, John Brown and election campaign. How does this sound to you?

Please remember, re: comparisons to the Lincoln-Douglas debates, that Douglas was actually able to speak coherently. The Kerry-Bush comparison falls more in line with the Popeye-Bluto debates.

They don't even need much will power. This crisis has just about the easiest problems ever faced.
It does?

What do you see as the nature of those problems?

Though I'm still somewhat agnostic due to our proximity to events I'd have to say that your analysis seems EXACTLY the most likely to me (with one qualifier that the analogous jiiteriness does not necessarily presage anything like another Civil War, just jitteriness in and of itself).
Americans have had enough of glitz and roar . . Foreboding has deepened, and spiritual currents have darkened . . .
THE FOURTH TURNING IS AT HAND.
See T4T, p. 253.

Is Kerry that bad a speaker/debater? My impression was that when he keeps his professorial tendencies in check he actually comes across rather well.

Hey, and don't "misunderestimate" Mr. "Strategery".
