Well, first-off, I wanna say that I'm generally not into 'the stuff'.
I'm more interested in family, friends, 'peace of mind', etc.
And, you can't take it with you, so ...
But, to answer your question more directly, I'd say that IMO/IME, and historically-speaking,
people who are more interested in whining about what they don't have, as opposed to being
grateful for what they actually do have, are seldom(if ever!) 'satisfied'. So, my advice is to
steer clear of those type of people and they'll end-up 'taking care' of themselves. And, if
you're lucky, maybe by even 'eating' each other. No mess. Problem solved!

PS: Plus, I believe that, as a generation, The Boom is more 'loaded' $$$-wise than Gen-X.
IOW: An Xer and a Boomer are camping when a bear suddenly comes out and growls.
The Xer starts putting on his tennis shoes. The Boomer says, What are you doing? You cant outrun a bear!
And, the Xer says, I dont have to outrun the bearI just have to outrun you! !

Anyone who so arranges his life so that material gain and indulgence are the pole star of existence is a fool -- especially in a 4T, when people can easily lose everything. There will be wars and persecutions, even in unlikely places and to unlikely people. Family and community can easily prove far more precious. It may be wiser to collect memories than to collect coins, antiques, jewels, or stamps. Bank balances? Governments can wipe those out with a few computer keystrokes today.
Governments and militias are the worst possible thieves. Just think of what happened to Germany's model minority from 1933 to 1945.
The greatest evil is not now done in those sordid "dens of crime" (or) even in concentration camps and labour camps. In those we see its final result. But it is conceived and ordered... in clean, carpeted, warmed and well-lighted offices, by (those) who do not need to raise their voices. Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the office of a thoroughly nasty business concern."

You Rang?
I just thought of a good one.
As such.
1962 = Year of the tiger. A tiger is a big cat. If Prince of Cats ~= Prince Of Tigers, we get POT!
PS:
1962 = #1 in high school potheads per S&H. That means the circle closes. So yeah, it feels right because all of the logical connections are in place.

There's an annual contest at Bond University, Australia, calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term:
The winning student wrote:
"Political correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and promoted by mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a piece of shit by the clean end."
Many Jews thought Hitler a flash in the pan as a menace.
"We have outlasted worse before".
"We really are Germans by culture".
"Religious bigotry is outmoded in the modern, sophisticated, civilized world".
"They need us if the economy is to work well".
"No evil lasts forever".
"Even Hitler can come to his senses".
"Things will be OK for us once Hitler is defeated in war".
"Churchill and Roosevelt will deliver us".
"Why give up on capitalism?"
"When they get to know us a little more they won't believe that $#!+ in Der Stuermer."
"Do you really want to go to Bolshevik Russia?"
...except that Hitler never came to his senses about the Jews, this was all true.

For good reason, most of America's 'model minorities' vote heavily Democratic despite having economic cause to be conservatives.

That would be hard to do. Or even a sword or whatever Romans used on each other back them.
Although he did say he was "bringing a sword."
Matthew 10:34:
34"Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. 35"For I came to SET A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW;
But he didn't say "pick up a sword and use it on your father, etc." It was a figure of speech; following Jesus' ideas and message would mean conflicts with authorities at home used to the old ways. Seen in that way, Jesus was really on the Left, not the Right which upholds the old ways and family authorities.

Its not tax money. The banks have accounts with the Fed so, to lend to a bank, we simply use the computer to mark up the size of the account that they have with the Fed. Its much more akin to printing money. - B.Bernanke

The funny thing is that he doesn't either. PB does sometimes but usually doesn't. Eric almost never knows what he's talking about, he just thinks he knows especially when we are dealing with anything other than new age clap-trap or astrology nonsense, what he's talking about which IMHO is worse.
I would disagree. I believe most people participating in this "conversation" (using a very loose sense of the word) have well thought out world views and values. They are just so distinct from one another that people sometimes can't and perhaps more often don't want to figure the other guy out. I am sure this exchange of stereotypes, insults and misunderstanding is somehow supporting of everybody's self-worth. Pardon if I don't indulge much.
I have found it vaguely insulting and impolite, when seeing someone do something vaguely stupid or funny, to throw out a group stereotype. I wouldn't mutter "blondes" or "Lithuanians" or "Xers." I say "humans" and assume a smug superior air.
I doubt that any of us is fully versed in any topic other that the one(s) we chose to pursue diligently. In most cases, that's our professions, and, perhaps, a serious hobby or two. Outside of those parameters, we're discussing things that interest us, but only as amateurs.
FWIW, I come here for enjoyment and lively exchanges that might be enlightening, but are fully satisfactory if they merely entertain me. Almost everyone on the forum, now and in the past, is bright and interesting, so that's never been a problem. I just hope no one is using the forum as a MOOC.

Marx: Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, diagnosing it incorrectly and applying the wrong remedies.

You have nothing better to do than starts fights on this board. Every time I visit here it's always the same fight over and over again.I write "walls of text"? I can't even light a candle to this forum's dominant left-liberal Boomers in that department.
And "hateful opinions"? I guess if you consider the likes of FDR, Frances Perkins, Mike Royko, Daniel Patrick Moynihan, and John Lindsay to be "hateful" ...
I consider your pointless stereotypes hate inspired. Why are hateful toward the left? Why do you hate them?
I don't fear anything, I just think you are wasting your time.In any event, thanks for vindicating me: It is "hardhats" like me that all you left-liberals, "movement conservatives," and libertarians all fear and loathe far more than you fear and loathe one another.
You have nothing better to do than start fights with other people. I don't care what your politics are. You're just irritating the hell out of everyone. I barely come here anymore because I know there's going to be a liberal v conservative fight somewhere. Likely started by you. Did you even expect an open discussion here?
What are you a child? Grow up!

Yeah they really are the problem. They have this entitlement complex. They expect to have everything handed to them thanks to their upbringing. The rest of us who actually work for it (and not just sitting in an office space answering phones), never seem to get it.The middle class isn't the problem. Middle income today is roughly $50,000 for a family of four. But even the $200,000 crowd shouldn't be an issue. The real issue is the state of the economy that allows employers to treat their employees like shit. Fixing that requires jobs, and lots of them. Once the employee is in demand, the treatment improves, or she leaves for other opportunities ... but not before.
