You misread what was a very moderate post back in June. Guns need to be regulated; I agree I can't win a battle to ban them. But the people want regulation; that makes it a winnable battle. Culture wars are irrelevant. I was responding to what Mr. Kepi said he wants his gun for. It is my opinion that it's an unnecessary hobby, and I'm a 'stikin' to it It's a poor excuse for risking peoples' lives by opposing gun regulations; which Kepi does thinking that it will infringe on his hobby. But I'm not going to try to pass a law that says they can't have their hobby. But for people to oppose gun laws because they think it will end their target practice hobby, is nonsense.

In the long term, I think people need to learn that they don't need guns, unless they are in the army or the police. And in the very long term, maybe we can dispense with them too.
I am also for stricter regulation but I am not for telling just by assumption people that just because they are doing target practice strictly for fun that they are practicing for shooting something. Yes it is your opinion that it is an unnecessary hobby but it is his life. You cannot live it for him. Shooting in a safe environment, sure. We agree on stricter regulations but not on unnecessary hobby. Old ways? You mean mentioning that other people are different and we should see that instead of telling people they are wrong because it does not fit a choice idealism, then yes maybe. But one thing about many of us millies is we want people to be included and to stop trying to impose idealism onto people. I do not think i misread the post. My post was not about regulation btw it was you expressing your opinion on kepis shooting practice hobby. We do agree with the regulations.

It is a matter of my persuasive argument that these gun hobbies are not necessary, but it is up to others to agree or not to agree. Admittedly I am not very persuasive, but practice makes perfect, perhaps.

I do not think it will ever be very persuasive. It is up to the person whether they can benefit from your opinion naturally but I think of it as a personal matter. Personal should stay personal sometimes. Like peoples thoughts on equal marriage. Some agree and some disagree, but should it stop them from marrying, no it is up to them. I think however where it crosses over the line from your vocal opinion and where it affects politics and personal freedom is something completely different. Unfortunately for some (not you on this) it is a thin line and causes me to react this way when people impose their personal beliefs or choices onto others.
