Old T4Ter photos on the Web

I found some photos on the web of the old Washington get-together. If anyone is willing, I was wondering if anyone would like to point themselves out. I'm just curious. Feel perfectly free to remain anonymous.

Nope, sorry, wasn't there...but then, you, Neisha, Justin '77 and of course Jenny already know what I look like. The DC get together...that was back in 2000, before I became a regular poster, wasn't it?

I attended a get together in January 2001. This wasn't it -- I recall that it was very C O L D when we got together.

However, I do recognize some faces and when I have a chance, I'll try to identify them for you.

I'm at the far right in the front row. I still lurk here occasionally. Where did you find these pictures? Were there more?

Isn't that Brian Lamb (no relation) from C-Span on the front row of the indoor picture?

Yes it is. The picture was taken at the C-Span studios. Brian interviewed the authors about T4T with the rest of us as an audience. During part of the show, Brian directed a few questions to the audience. I wonder if the show is still archived somewhere?

I haven't a clue why, but I seem to know this website like the back of my hand. One might go here for some interesting tidbits on the DC get together that created these photos.

I wonder if Mr. Black might take the time to id some of the folks for us? Like, where's that looney David Kaiser?

p.s. The photos appear to have come from here.

Just reading a few of the comments under Topic: "Who Would Like to Party", makes one realize that those where much happier care-free days here at T4T.
Sigh. The Fourth Turning was not so real, eh?

Back then the Devil's Troglodyte didn't harass the board and concentrated on his onanistic pleasures, to the exclusion of all else apparently. Now THOSE must've been the days.

Calling him 'The Trog' reminds me of those two Geico commercials where the Geico guy says' "It's so simple a caveman could do it'. Suppose a Neandertal read some posts and replied, "NOT COOL!"

Here is my stab at it (based on my recollections from what some of them looked like a couple of years later in early 2001):

Front Row (left to right): Matt Elmsley (from Toronto, Canada), unknown, Lis Libengood, unknown, unknown, unknown, Tom Black.

Second Row: All unknown to me.

Third row: William Strauss, Neil Howe, David Kaiser, unknown, unknown, Robert Reed, unknown.

Please correct me if I've mis-identified anyone.

Wow, Robert Reed must have been awfully young there. Sixteen? Seventeen?

Front row: Person between Matt Elmsley and Lis Libengood is Deanna Beppu. Brian Lamb is to the right of Lis.

No. Robert Reed was not at the 2001 get-together. This one was probably around 1998 or 1999.
