Down to 2.47/2.48 in my area. I think that's about a 60 cent decrease in the past 2 - 2 1/2 weeks.

Gas in my neighborhood hasn't budged in the last two weeks... still $2.959 for premium, twenty cents less for regular.

I've seen it down to $2.679 today. Wonder if this is the bottoming-out point before the effects of Rita become apparent.

$2.67 at its lowest in Austin.

Will certainly see a rise in a few days with Rita coming in.

The real questions are; will the gas prices equal or exceed the post-Katrina highs this time around, and will they come back down so quickly this time around?

So far, Silicon Valley has remained consistent for close to three weeks. I still see a range of $2.89 to $3.04 and my local station is still $2.97.

Of course, ever since then it's been unchanged (I guess they just want to keep it beginning with a 2... I remember lots of gas stations holding onto 99 9/10 in the past)

And it's up by 4 cents this morning ($2.71 now) in anticipation of what Rita might do the refineries on the Gulf.

Let's see where this runs to in a few weeks.

Ours is still holding steady at the same prices as three weeks ago. Actually I happened across a station that sold premium for 3 cents less than the one in my neighborhood... $2.929/gallon. I expect that to change as early as tomorrow morning, however.

It has dropped in the past three days from AUD$1.20/L (US$3.44/gal) to AUD$1.09/L (US$3.13) at the same station in Wacol. I understand that it was a fair bit higher earlier in the month...

What do you have out your way, Tristan?

Gas has stayed around $2.929 to $2.999 in these here parts for the past week. The day after Rita hit, a few gas stations raised the price to about $3.059, but after a day, those stations returned to the $2.90-something level.

It's coming down a tad around here. The gasoline station nearest my house is now selling regular/plus/premium for $2.699/$2.799/$2.899... down six cents from what it's been since Katrina.

I thought it was strange that I saw a Chevron/Tetco station posting the regular unleaded price as $2.99 yesterday, when the day before other stations have had it at $2.67.

The 30-some cent increase overnight is amazing, if it is true for all stations. I might need to check out other stations along my commute to see if they corroborate with the Chev-Tet prices.
