And still dropping!

For the first time since August 2005, premium gas is well below three bucks a gallon at $2.89... with plus and regular following at $2.79 and $2.69, respectively.

It's cheaper here in DC. Gas in my neighborhood is selling at $2.43 regular. Oddly enough, in the posh neighborhood where my daughter's school is, I can get gas for $2.25.

Around here it's $2.19-$2.24, give or take.

$2.89 9/10 at the Chevron (without competition it has been less keen to lower prices than its comrades in Brentwood, which tend to use the 2.70s range)

Thumbs down How Low Can It Go?

I filled up my car at a Sunoco in western Alexandria, Virginia. I paid $2.17 a gallon.

Is anyone paying less than $2.00 a gallon?

The cheapest gas I've found in the last few days is $2.04.

Prices have held in my neighborhood at $2.099 (for regular, with plus and premium much higher) for a long time now.

Well, it hasn't dropped below the 20.30ruble/L (~$2.88/gal) all this time, but then it might not go up any either.

We hope...

As it is across the river in greater Portland (I'm visiting my sister here). That's quite a bit lower, though, than the $2.55/$2.65/$2.75 that prevails up the road in Sunnyside, WA (where my in-laws live).

Unfortunately, I don't think there's time. My wife and I are heading back to SE Washington tomorrow afternoon.

Tempe, AZ

At a QT a couple of blocks from my house in the Phoenix area, gas is $2.15/gallon. It bottomed out a $2.09 for quite a while, and has gone up since the day before the election.

The two stations in my suburb held at $2.09 for quite a while before the election, though plus and premium at both places was a good bit higher. I came back from vacation on Tuesday to find one at $2.13 and the other at $2.16.

Funny thing - my wife and I were visiting my in-laws (and my wife's friends) in south-central Washington. I saw several instances where stations across the street were ten to fourteen cents apart.

Gas Prices on the Rise?

I've been noticing that gas prices are on the rise. For example, my local stations were around $2.27 or $2.29 not too long ago. Now prices are running $2.45 to $2.49.

Has anyone else noticed recent increases?

In northern South Carolina the price of gas was about $1.99 a gallon a month ago and now it is about $2.25. This cost is being passed on. In grocery shopping, I've noticed that prices are about 10-15% higher on many items lately.

Yep. Depends on the disruptions in the maintenance cycle. We are starting with lower inventories vs. a year ago with increased demand.

Yeah, my local shop bounced thirty cents last week, $2.15 to $2.45. Iran? Or the stock market making an emergency landing? (Nine of the last ten closings have been down.)

Dunno. Regular gas jumped from $2.499 to $2.599 over the past couple of weeks. Not terribly dramatic as yours was, but agreed, not the direction we'd prefer to see.

We're currently paying $2.299/$2.399/$2.499 for Regular/Plus/Premium. That's a $0.25 jump in two weeks. I guess we're too far from elections to have an impact.
