I hadn't really noticed until lately, but apparently gas here in Phoenix is the cheapest in the nation. Gas can be found for 1.61, but that's sporadic (not counting things like Costco gas). The cheapest in Tempe is 1.69 at an ARCO (cash price), and the station in my neighborhood, a QuikTrip, is charging 1.75 right now.

I still remember it getting down to 1.46 around Christmas time, though, although of course that whole time I was back home for the holidays, where gas was naturally going for 1.69. Until recently, gas was always cheaper in the city where I wasn't. All fall semester, gas was going for 20 cents less in Minneapolis compared to Phoenix. Now Phoenix is cheaper.

Of course, next month I get to drive home. Usually the cheapest gas is around Missouri, which I pass through on the way. Of course now that's not going to be the case.

Gas prices usually hate me, but I guess not this semester.

James - could you do us a favor? By starting at the top with the earliest of the gas prices, it makes it less easy to see the latest ones you're posting. Is there a way to reverse that order without a massive cut & paste job?

-Sorry, I'm one of those strange people who reads English from top to bottom.

Actually, it's six of one, half-a-dozen of the other. I'll leave it up to a vote in PM. If no one else requests otherwise, I'll put the recent price up top, and then recede backwards.

Almost that high in Albuquerque right now. $2.239 last I looked. We are getting moderately close to Memorial Day, though.

Still at 18.60 rub/L. Thanks to the back-to-slipping dollar (32.15 rub/USD and trending southward), that's $2.19/gal.

It could be the upcoming Memorial Day thing that you mentioned in a previous post, but at the same time after MD, it could go either way... I guess we'll find out soon enough. At the same time(on a positive note), I keep in mind that a year ago at this time I was paying nearly double what it is now. I was also living in Santa Cruz, CA, where gas prices are around 30 cents (at least!)higher than ABQ's normally.

I just filled up at $2.459 at a local gas station. Of course, it was the one close to the airport, since I was on that road at the time, and it has a drive-through car wash attached, both of which will drive up the price. OTH, on another road I remember seeing a convenience store station selling it at $2.419 a few days ago.

Good crap is the cost coming up for you guys!

We're still holding strong at 18.60 rub/L (though the dollar continues to slip, so that now translates to $2.256/gal).

I'm so shocked that Cincinnati has made it through the week without a Greedway Price Spike. Thursday has passed so we're safe until next tuesday.

Middle-of-nowhere Karelia is a hair more expensive than the main-drag places we've frequented to now. The most expensive gas I got was outside Nadvoytsy, for 21.30ruble/L ~=USD$2.602/gal

Prescott WI has it for 2.699. In nearby Minnesota southeastern suburban areas it can be found for about 2.559. It's stabilized for now.

Just as I filled up yesterday at 2.519---

Today I saw signs all over town for gas at 2.400 and even at one place 2.389.

And me with a full tank.

I didn't see today, but recently, gas where I live:

Prescott WI (competitive pressures from nearby cheaper Minnesota): $2.45~$2.49
Up in Cottage Grove MN (the closest suburb): $2.39

Interestingly, gas in the city proper of St Paul was cheaper than anything out my way, suburbs included, which is the reverse of what I've seen in the past. Usually St Paul is a few cents more than the suburbs, but still less than my Wisconsin town.

The average prices in the Twin Cities metro as a whole, excluding Wisconsin: $2.35

The non-WI metro area range, excluding outliers, is $2.25-$2.49. However, towns further in Wisconsin (not my border town) have it much higher - a couple of days ago I paid something like $2.63 or something like that in River Falls.
