Yea, when your kid comes home having caught TB from another student undiagnosed because of lack of insurance, I'm sure your kid will be pleased as punch to be sacrificed for keeping those undocumented away from any health services.

I guess the next round of flu or worse will just obey those rules about only infecting freedom fry loving citizens, whoo-hoo!

Wow, those amygdalas sure make you all so incredibly stupid.

Maybe instead, you should, you know, maybe go out and do something with your own life to feel special?

Oh, silly me, I forgot that amygdala needs you to lash out on somebody to feel special. Carry on.

You have a point there, JDG. That comment of mine was a bit bigoted, or at least stereotyped. Score one for the Glick!

Then again, I don't suffer from the old-age prejudice that the heart has no neuro-tissue, and in fact we new agers know it is smart and a better guide for our lives as opposed to the brain.... nor do we suffer from the delusion that "the heart" is merely the physical pump, when in fact it's the heart chakra......

-Hmmm... I'm impressed.

1) May I suggest a disclaimer undernetah the clipping?

2) Maybe you should consider giving conservtives and libertarians a little more credit when you go slinging accusations of "RACISM!".

-Yeah, like the US Army and the US Marine Corps reading lists, which have LTC Grossman as "suggested" reading ("suggested" in the military sense ):

...why does PW think he knows more about this than people who have actually served?

If only he could admit his failings.

Nah, that would be giving you guys too much credit

But remember I did qualify the accusation in one of my replies to Dr. Moron. Not all who fall for the trickle-down, free-market delusions are racists. Just some of them.

You are aware that infectious diseases are, in fact, infectious? Just to note, they're also diseases.

That means you can get sick-y poo-poo when someone already sick-y poo-poo sneezes in your direction.

The best way to mitigate that is for people to go to the doctor - that's the guy/gal that your mommy took you to when you were sick-y poo-poo.

I think you mean that (some) infectious diseases are contagious, but yes, thanks for reminding me.
Now that I've been enlightened, I'm so very afraid! Health insurance for everyone, especially those filthy immigrants!

The only people who are more moronic or dishonest than Steve Moore are people that quote Steve Moore.

He lies about everything and its well documented.

Here's the simple reality -

and all that health coverage has cost way less than anyone anticipated -

http://www.vox.com/2015/3/23/8277197...are-price-myth

Obamacare’s price tag has dropped 5 times in 5 years
And contrary to all the anecdotes that ALWAYS prove to be misleading information, health care costs and insurance premiums have risen at the slowest rates in decades.

Oh, and no death panels. Don't laugh, around 1/2 the people who still say they don't like the ACA still believe it sanctions death panels to throw grandma under the bus.

The amygdala-dominated are not going to "smartin up." We need to defeat these people at the polls and make them the joke that they truly have become.

That could only be spoken by a true amygdala-dominated.

Those with fully-functioning cerebral lobes see insurance as a prudent measure against risks - most of which probabilities and consequences can be measured and rationally weight, and most importantly, pooled across individuals to reduce the risk/consequences and cost to any one individual. That is why nearly everyone with a house or a car has insurance; why banks and governments require it. That is why anyone with sufficient income, particularly with responsibilities for loved ones, has health insurance, disability insurance and life insurance.

Your statement is about as perfect an example of how amygdala override of the cerebral lobes can make one not only stupid but at great risk to themselves and those who depend on them. It's stunningly amazing to those that use our cerebral lobes without the amygdala override.

What a dick.
From the New Oxford American Dictionary -

Strictly, a contagious disease is one transmitted by physical contact, whereas an infectious one is transmitted via microorganisms in the air or water. In practice, there is little or no difference in meaning between contagious and infectious when applied to disease or its spread.
When someone sneezes in confined elevator space, do you consider your inhaling the droplets of infected snot micro droplets as physical contact or air transmission. Either way, I believe nearly everyone in the health professions would see your response, to be kind, as weak to the public health idiocy of making it difficult for people to obtain health care because of their legal status.

I made the point that most of those oppose to the ACA do so as a conditioned response; certain keywords (e.g., Obama, Obamacare) end any attempt by their cerebral lobes to grasp any associated issue - in this particular situation, fail to undertake even a modicum of effort to help a friend in need.

You attempted to discredit that point by a bizarre suggestion I was calling someone racist.

Or, for a "compromise," drop the individual mandate, but only for those states which don't have an exchange. It would be instructive to see how many states jump ship.

PW's charts do not answer Moore's first point. Millions of people have lost the insurance they liked, or in The Teleprompter-in-Chief's famous lie: "If you like your insurance, you can keep your insurance." The fact that they later ended up buying insurance that they didn't want isn't much of a consolation.

What the first chart does show is that Obmamacare has jumped up premiums, lowered benefits, and lowered quality so that 2 million extra people could have medical insurance that they may or may not have actually wanted...

Nor does vox answer the second point. It's still more expensive. It goes on to point out that one of the reasons it isn't worse is that people aren't signing up for the crap. What Moore actually wrote was this:

However, the latest [bolding mine]statistics from the federal government show that ObamaCare costs for the Medicaid expansion and the taxpayer subsidized exchanges will rise from about $35 billion last year, to $77 billion this fiscal year, and to an expected $116 billion in 2016. So in three years ObamaCare outlays will have tripled. Only in Washington would this be considered controlling costs...

Or maybe PW wants to argue with the US government? It well known that the crappiest parts of Obamacare were backloaded to lull the gullible. But as Moore notes, it hasn't worked:

43% of Americans support the law and 53% oppose it. A May Gallup poll found more than twice as many respondents (24%) say the law has hurt their families than say it has helped them (10%).

I guess that when it's all said and done, what PW wants us to do is give in to our amygdalae and love Obamacare.

LOVE IT!

When someone sneezes in an elevator, do you freak out and immediately contact your doctor to recieve treatment for whatever ailment that you think/ believe the person who sneezed may or may not have exposed you to at that point. If illegal minorities are sick, why do you support letting them in and doing little to nothing about their presence or preventing access. The way I see it, sick illegal minorities are basically your issue at this point and liberals should be held financially accountable for all their expenses and be held liable for all costs that their continued presence inflicts on us.

Approaching that beyond belief in a very good way!

Here's the headline -

Obamacare's Impact: America's Uninsured Rate Is Down To 10% - And Falling

Just look at these two charts from a recent Urban Institute poll -

- that difference in states expanding Medicaid or not should be sufficient enough to damn the amygdala-dominated to Hell.

- the uninsured has been cut in half, and much of that uninsured left is undocumented immigrants. Just imagine the public health payoff if we can get over the amygdala-dominated fetish with the 11 million undocumented that are already here.

Obamacare's Impact: America's Uninsured Rate Is Down To 10% - And Falling

New data has raised a tantalizing possibility: That for the first time, America’s uninsured rate will fall below 10%.

(If it hasn’t already; the most recently reported data was collected three months ago.)

The findings come from the Urban Institute’s Health Reform Monitoring Survey, a quarterly survey of non-elderly Americans.

And as of March 2015, the Urban Institute’s survey found that 10.0% of nonelderly adults were uninsured, down from 17.8% in September 2013, before the Affordable Care Act’s insurance exchanges first launched.

No major survey has ever found that the uninsured rate in America has hit single digits.

However, the uninsured rate is already down to 7.5% in states that have expanded Medicaid under Obamacare, Urban researchers concluded.
More is there, but this caught my eye -

Having more insured customers is good for the health care industry, too. Hospitals are reporting huge jobs gains, and the health care sector is reporting its best 12-month stretch of new jobs in almost 25 years.
- and many of those jobs are high-paying jobs (see links).
