I live just south of Boston. The three traditional network stations are still doing all day coverage of the bombing.

After the Newtown shootings it was suggested that hyper publicizing spree shooters was a bad idea. I'm not sure it is any different with the more political killers. Corporate media is giving them just what they are looking for. Then again, if we are looking at a spiral of violence, sure, the extremists on both sides want to maximize the hype and the violence. The corporate media policy makers are starting to feel like accomplices.

No matter who did it; tragedy will be turned into prejudice and an excuse for revenge. That's apparently how many of us roll. Besides, whatever the media reports, we just know for sure that it must be the gospel truth.

There's no doubt about who did it now. They are two brothers, Muslim fanatics, but appear to be acting on their own. One has already been killed, and a massive manhunt is going on for the second. The older one who was killed has a you tube page that has a lot of Muslim stuff on it, and a deleted playlist entitled "terrorists." They have apparently been in America around Boston for 10 years, but they felt they didn't fit in and hated everyone here.

No doubt some people and pundits will use them as an excuse for more war mongering against Muslims. That would just be perpetuating the spiral of violence.
