. I know that the Southern Baptist and other penecostals don't even dancing. I know that the Southern Baptist and other penecostals don't even et their children trick or treat on Halloween. That's considered devil worship.
I remember asking an Orthodox Christian which holiday was his favorite. I said mine was Halloween. He got really upset and said that it had to do with the devil.

Halloween is derived from the Celtic pagan festival of Samhain (Pronounced [ˈsaṽɨnʲ]).

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halloween

The ancient Celts believed that the border between this world and the Otherworld became thin on Samhain, allowing spirits (both harmless and harmful) to pass through. The family's ancestors were honoured and invited home while harmful spirits were warded off. It is believed that the need to ward off harmful spirits led to the wearing of costumes and masks. Their purpose was to disguise oneself as a harmful spirit and thus avoid harm. In Scotland the spirits were impersonated by young men dressed in white with masked, veiled or blackened faces.

To recommend thrift to the poor is both grotesque and insulting. It is like advising a man who is starving to eat less.

Well now it's pretty much Christianized though. I don't see how people could object to it.

Fanatics actively look for things to whine about.
