Okay. Well then that really supports what I'm saying. Interest in him is rising because he doesn't take the Tea Party name in vain.

So are we in agreement that it's some of the folks and not message that raises eyebrows, right?

I don't know what raises other people's eyebrows. Those inclined to the left will be opposed to the Tea Party inherently because they want to cut taxes and government spending. Every other complaint and accusation they make against the Tea Party or individuals associated with it is just an excuse for that fact.

Well I'll speak for myself and add that Cain sticks with the issues, politics and doesn't seem like he's personally demonizing the other side.

If it comes down to the fact that you personally admire Obama and don't like to see him criticized, that's understandable. But it's not a good reason for accepting or rejecting particular views about government policy.

As a factual matter, Obama has failed, miserably. And he had a chance to do whatever he wanted for two years. Whether you like him or not (and I don't personally dislike him), that's just a fact.

You're Right. There's a big difference between being a charming guy and policy. Can't debate that.

My friends and I were joking the other day that he could slip in a Reagan quote and Bachman would still probably reject it just because it came from his mouth, though. LOL

History will show the major shift in strategy for Obama was when the GOP leadership made him push back his joint address after the summer break. He has been on fire since then. He is the only one actually talking about job creation, the GOP is talking esoteric economic theory.

CBS poll last week asked who was most to blame for the economy, "Americans cited the Bush administration (22 percent), followed by Wall Street (16 percent), Congress (15 percent) and then the Obama administration (12 percent.) One in 10 said 'all of the above.'"

Explains Obama's soft support of the Occupy Wall Street movement. He needs to keep hammering away the message of jobs. Making the Republicans defend proposed tax increases on millionaires (especially when they are positioned as rollbacks to Clinton era) is resonating.

Another poll conducted last week show significant growth in how he is perceived in trying to grow jobs while congress continues to lose ground.

Latest from the Obama administration:

The U.S. government has obtained a controversial type of secret court order to force Google and small Internet provider Sonic.net to turn over information from the email accounts of WikiLeaks volunteer Jacob Appelbaum, according to documents reviewed by The Wall Street Journal

well... at least they are getting a court order.

But yeah... now might be a good time to really worry about a slippery slope.

Iranians preparing to deploy fleet off of east coast. Possible "second pearl harbor"

Iran has recently announced according to several sources that they are preparing to deploy a fleet of crusiers off of the US east coast. It is well known in intelligence circles that Russia and Iran Have be assembling secret arsenals of thousands of nukes and deploying hundreds of submarines in order to prepare for WW3. Such technologies such as nuclear missiles that can avoid radar in mid-air as well as stealth nuclear missiles have been developed and deployed by both countries. Likely the iranian plan is to dispatch a cruiser fleet in order to launch as surprise nuclear missile attack on military and civilian targets on the east coast. Likely russia and iran would launch a massive blitzkrieg into the middle east and europe in the confusion massacre civilians especially those considered to be "inferior races" along the way. A second russian army would likely invade north america from siberia into alaska and canada at the same time. I fear we may not have to worry about the 2012 elections after all.

All that, plus secret assassination orders against your countrymen.

I wish I had any hope that this would cause at least a few people to rethink the way they behave.

Cain Surges, Nearly Ties Romney for Lead in GOP Preferences

A lot of candidates have been up and down, but Cain is certainly surging right now.

Get real.
I heard someone else suggest today..."Since Republicans do like to get behind populist movements and spin them to their advantage, I wonder why instead of trying to paint the people at OWS as anti-American, violent mobs. Why didn't the Republicans spin it as "These people are discontented Obama voters who are unhappy with his policies."? I think that's a very good question. It would seem that would have been a better tactic. That way they wouldn't have alienated all these people while making it look the momentum was moving towards the Republicans.

It would have actually been true to some extent. However that requires them to be in touch with the young heartbeat of America.

At least it has a lot more truth to it than some of their other accusations.

I don't know. Things have changed a lot since 2008, so I don't think you can really compare the two. Cain's lack of political experience is an asset, and a liability. I think he can win, if the voters become confident in his ability to win the general election.

Well I did suggest on the protest thread that the rules might be different as we get into a 4T.

Amy, could you please put a lid on this before you get us into even worse trouble than we're in?

And they will until they or their own kids can't find work anywhere. Like the old saying goes, it's a recession until you lose *your* job.
