Yes, the lesser and the greater.

To believe otherwise is akin to believing that since both tanning and high-level radiation burn, there's little difference between spending a day at the beach and being at ground zero when a nuke goes off.

Oh, it's not that a nihilist doesn't understand the tangible difference; it's that, at least for the existential type, they just don't think the difference is meaningful.

A good tan or totally evaporate - really, when it comes down to it, what's the difference?

Thanks. So, who else will be voting the Zombie Hickory/Zombie Teddy ticket? I know I will.

"There have always been people who say: "The war will be over someday." I say there's no guarantee the war will ever be over. Naturally a brief intermission is conceivable. Maybe the war needs a breather, a war can even break its neck, so to speak. But the kings and emperors, not to mention the pope, will always come to its help in adversity. ON the whole, I'd say this war has very little to worry about, it'll live to a ripe old age."

That depends. Would you prefer a quick painless death from evaporation or a slow, agonizing death from cancer?

Of course the end result is the same in either case. Dust and bones.

The analogy still holds -

You believe you need a tan, and it makes no difference to you whether by a day at the beach or by being nuke'd. (Brings a whole new meaning to a "glowing tan." )

But even before you get to that, I always find it amusing that those desiring the "break down" have the implicit assumption that they would survive it. It's pretty clear indicator that they have never personally experienced such conditions, ..... or at least, studied Chaos Theory.

Yes, dust and bones. But on the way there, there's quality.... and the choice to chose it.

Gawd, I have had my fill of zombies lately, BUT that was brilliant casting.

By the way, Murray has actually come to life imitating art --- which is kind of sad.

I assume nothing. I'm only saying what I think the answer to the problem is.

Now, whether I survive the implementation of such a solution is dependent on my own ability to survive, and that alone. Please don't presume to speak for me. You know nothing of my life.

Copperfield needs to give you some nihilism lessons.
Oh, I know you're about as much a nihilist as you are someone looking for a tan - your concern for my education makes that obvious.

You just like certain role playing.

You do realize that all I said was that I find those desiring the 'break down' to be amusing.

You're response is interesting. So, now that it is clear about your desire, how far does this 'break down' have to go to satisfy you and why do you think it would stop there?

And why are you so sure that I know nothing of your life - how big and secretive do think drama world presents? You really are that confident that you've left no clues?

If you don't think nihilism plays an important role in the 2012 election, or for that matter in most elections, you're missing a lot of clues about society and life in general.

I know. And the sad thing is there's some weird belief that nihilists cannot also be hypocrites. So this train of silly is entirely about derailing the thread, not logic. Cheers.

Oh there are plenty scattered across this forum, if you care to go searching through a lot of old posts--but even so, there's still stuff that I've held back from discussing in public.

Not only that, he originally said it was only half a million, and he claimed he was advising them to cut back risky lending, when in fact their officials unanimously confirmed that they paid him the money to convince Congressional Republicans that they were doing the lord's work. Which I assume he did by redistributing most of the money to them. . . .Unlike sexual harassment, this is something his fellow candidates are going to be bringing up, Perry, especially, that dreaded scourge of crony capitalism. . . .

I wonder, how many of you know what a Fabian strategy is?

Funny how they say that every time, and how every time afterward, nothing gets different.

It must be some sort of specialized-jargon definition of the word 'difference' you guys are using. That's it, right?
