Now with 19% of the vote in, Romney still leads in VA by 15.1%. In FL with 20% in, Romney leads by 2 points. The tally so far in FL is apparently mostly absentee ballots and early voting, and the polls just closed in the panhandle at 8 PM.

Interestingly, in VA George Allen leads Tim Kaine by only 4.2% among the same voters that have already reported. So Romney appears to be dramatically outperforming Allen, and that race has been a tie in the polls all year.

No administration will be successful until they discover the need to rebuild our manufacturing, build up the army to at least over 10 million soldiers, rebuild our nuke arsenal to cold war levels. And Finally and most importantly pacify the middle east. Go ahead republicans and democrats, keep this partisan divisive tug of war going, in the 2020s both the democrats and republicans will be swept away by the new order. America would be revitalized and renewed as an empire of steel, the sword of the west.

Need to not keep posting incremental updates, but with 31% now in (reporting has been paused while the last people in line vote), VA is looking not just like a Romney win, but a big Romney win. He appears to be leading in every county in NOVA except Fairfax. Bob McDonnell carried those counties in 2009, so it may not be a total surprise.

The state numbers are all in flux as the results trickle in, but when you add it all up, the national number is Romney 51.5%, Obama 47.4%. Considering that these are all in the eastern half of the country where most of the population lives, that may be pretty close to the final result...

In Mass. Liz Warren is projected to defeat incumbent senator Brown. Teddy's seat is back in good hands!

VA and NC look like they're going for Romney. But with OH and FL still undecided, the possibility that I thought was extremely unlikely, now looks possible - that being Obama winning the electoral college while losing the popular vote. Many of the battleground states have already been called for Obama, but Romney still leads the popular vote by 2.5%, which is where it has been pretty consistently all night. If FL is within less than 1% (it's 0.6% now with 89% counted), there will be an automatic recount. Another 2000...exactly what we need.

Minnesota called for Obama

Both Akin and Mourdock were crushed, looks like women voters have a way of shutting that sh*t down.

And he'll not do a damn thing over the next two years - thank God - as the House is still controlled by the Republicans.

Well, they called Ohio for Obama, the Dems hold the Senate, the Republicans hold the House. In other words, absolutely nothing has changed, except that Obama is now an extremely weakened lame duck. Why did we even have an election? Four more years just like the last four. Woo hoo. Bed time.

Virginia is now a photo finish, with Romney leading by about 20,000 votes. We'll see...only two-thirds of Fairfax County votes in.

It's absolutely nothing to fret about. The Republicans still control the House (and picked up a few seats at that). Absolutely nothing will be accomplished by this lame duck president over the next few years. And I seriously doubt anything will be "accomplished" (the word is used argumentatively) after 2014 because we will still hold control of Congress. So, let the liberals bask in their win tonight - John Boehner still holds the hands of Obama under police cuffs. Good luck to Obama on accomplishing anything he seeks to do in the further downfall of our nation. It won't happen. Not a bill put before Congress will pass before we have a chance to circumvent it for the betterment of our nation. In other words, absolutely nothing has changed tonight but a further attempt of the degradation of our nation. For the next two years, Obama will be as "effective" as the last two years. In other words - this nation is woefully locked.

We grow closer to the Civil War which I think will eventually take place - more so than ever now.

Yeah, everything is falling exactly as the polls showed in terms of relative position, except Florida, which is much closer than the polls showed. OH, VA and FL are all mind-bogglingly narrow - less than a 1% margin in each state. A tiny shift in the overall popular vote would have given them all to Romney. What I have to wonder is what all those people who voted for Obama were thinking. I know for many of them it was just about race, and for the hard left it's just dogma. But for the ones who made the difference, I have no idea what was going through their mind. How is anything going to get better now?

Well, JPT, look on the bright side - it won't get any worse. Nothing will get past Congress under Boehner's control. We're absolutely deadlocked as a nation now. No better than the last two years - but no worse as well.

Precisely. Anyone who can speak of 'legitimate rape' or that the child of a rape can be a blessing from God now has his feet in the 21st century and his mind in the 15th.
The greatest evil is not now done in those sordid "dens of crime" (or) even in concentration camps and labour camps. In those we see its final result. But it is conceived and ordered... in clean, carpeted, warmed and well-lighted offices, by (those) who do not need to raise their voices. Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the office of a thoroughly nasty business concern."

Well, I certainly agree with you my friend, but the man has no mandate. I'm trying to look at things on the bright side with the disastrous re-election of this man. Shit, JPT, try to cheer me up a little here instead of just thinking gloom and doom and putting me into a greater depression!

Reality is reality. Obamacare is on course. Businesses are not going to be hiring. Entitlements will not be reformed. The budget deficit will continue to spiral out of control because the economy is not growing.

"We were left where we were as a country but probably a little worse off" - Charles Krauthammer. One of the most intelligent and wise men of our time. I agree with him 100%. But I will not espouse gloom and doom - because we still hold the House. Nothing at all will change over the next two years. The problem is that where we were already sucked. The fact that it wasn't as bad as it theoretically could be (if the Democrats had won the House) is pretty thin gruel as far as consolation goes. The economy is not going to improve, and the country is going to be more divided, not less. S&H's prediction about Xers getting screwed in every stage of life is looking pretty accurate.
