According to your charts, we have a period of social unrest coming. Common sense lead me to the same conclusion a long time ago.Still insecure I see! It's not about me, but it IS about me to the extent that my predictions have proven right again. Smart people DO go around doing that, in fact, if they want to be heard. If you believe in results and a track record, then it is wise to pay attention to me instead of psychoanalyzing me instead. But then, that's who you are I guess.... and it's OK.........
By analogy -
On the one hand, we have a city of 1 million people. There is crime. People on occasion get killed as a result of that crime. Sometimes, it’s the police that kill. Sometimes innocent people get caught in the cross fire and get killed. Total deaths are around 1000 and 10% of those are of the innocent.
On the other hand, we have several cities of 1 million with some 10 or 20 million. They've all been nuked and everyone died. The radioactivity has put in doubt not only humans but entire ecosystems far removed from those immediately impacted and the radioactivity is now circulating the globe with unknown consequences.
Here's the choice before you, which scenario do you want to live through?
This isn't really hard. It's not really a matter of innate intelligence. What it is truly is a matter of emotional intelligence - have you broken through the bonds of adolescence. Do you still believe that if mommy doesn't give you every possible thing you want, you are just going to stay in your room, read Ayn Rand and tell everyone that they just don't understand?
May I just suggest growing up?

They are very popular in Atlanta and surrounding suburbs. The "small government" conservatives in my area don't consider it intrusive in the least to make you fill out a form and wait 4-6 weeks for Mommy to say it's OK to paint your house the exact same color, remove dead pine trees or repair your roof.
I just have to continue keeping my record straight for when we are driven off that fiscal cliff, or worse.

And just to be clear. Krugman was talking specifically about 2012 election and Obama.
Rani gives you previous elections, and at the web site, the donations identified are to party not to candidates. One would have to assume that Senator Schumer and other Dems controlling the Senate Finance Committee can command a lot of donations from the financial sector.
That's not what happened in 2012 for Obama and that is what Krugman is pointing out. Obama owes them absolutely nothing for the next four years.
Sometimes one's ideology can blind them to some pretty interesting insights.

Ah, most of the bailouts have been paid off and actually turned a 'profit' to the govt. (it's not really 'profit' because the money just goes back into the ether from which it was issues - but that's another story).

One could only wish for the picture, and not the more-accurate one. Unfortunately he left a lot of work undone. The House is still in the hands of the robber-barons. He waged a lone-ranger campaign, in the words of Mark Shields. He thinks of himself as like the picture. He thinks he can wave a wand and transform greedy sociopaths like Boehner and Bachmann into guardians of the public good. I told him over and over to demand a congress he could work with. I think you'd be hard press to find anyone with those expectations today. The ones coming up with these pics are just those still so disappointed to the point that they've become catatonic with getting anything actually done.

I don't think anyone on your side gives a shit about jobs and the economy. I think the bulk of the posters here are liberal spoon feds who are more interested in their social issues and political gains. My only concern is relative to the nature of our eventual split. I don't see the two America's staying together for the long term without another war being fought to keep America together.
