April 14, 2003: Having Troubles Posting?

If you are having troubles logging in or making posts, please read this:

I had to change the "cookie" system last night in order to clear up other problems people were having.

This is going to require some people to delete their cookies, close their web browsers, and restart their web browser to clear out conflicts that will keep you from successfully posting to the site.

If that procedure does not work, please let me know via e-mail (webmaster at lifecourse.com) what type of web browser you are using and what type of operating system you are using.

You should also try using another web browser if you have one installed (if you normally use Internet Explorer, try Netscape or vice-versa).

Thanks,

-- Craig

Craig,

I've been able to post since I deleted cookies and rebooted, but I can't get the auto-login to work anymore. I just had to login manually to post this message, and this is the third time today.

This isn't earth shattering - just annoying.

Thanks, Craig. I'm now logging on and posting via Netscape Communicator browser and everything seems to be functioning great! Not only that, but the response time is actually about three to four times faster than with AOL/Internet Explorer.

Great to hear that it is working for you. I've been researching the problem for AOL web browser users, and it appears that these boards won't work properly with the AOL browser because of a security issue.

So, if you are on AOL you need to use another browser and hopefully you'll get good results. Making these boards usable with the AOL browser would lower security to a dangerously low level.

My best,
